Waterford City has been ranked the least congested of all Ireland's larger cities.

That's according to a report for 2022 compiled by INRIX Inc, which is a world leader in mobility analytics and connected car services.

Of all the cities in the world, Waterford ranks 145th when it comes to traffic congestion, with drivers losing an average of 52 hours because of traffic.

Dublin, however, is the 12th worst in the world.

Galway ranks 39th globally, while Cork ranks 71st, and Limerick ranks 95th.

Congestion was up a massive 63% in Waterford last year, compared to 2021, but it still hasn't reached pre-pandemic levels again, as it was down 19% on 2019.

In Ireland, Kilkenny was the only city less congested than Waterford, ranking 357th in the world and with drivers losing an average of 34 hours in traffic.
