Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a robbery which took place on the Quay in Waterford last Thursday, January 25.
At approximately 10pm, a man stole a handbag from a woman before running in the direction of Rice Bridge.
A nearby bus driver chased the man on foot, however he escaped over the bridge before he could be apprehended.
The handbag was located a short distance away from the location of the incident, where it had been discarded.
The man is described as being approximately 6ft tall, of strong build, and was wearing a jacket with his hood up.
Gardai are asking members of the public to contact Waterford Garda Station in relation to this incident, or if any further details can be given to add to the physical description.
