Waterford and Wexford ETB has announced that the Certificate in Community Studies, run in collaboration with SETU, has been shortlisted for an Aontas Star Award for initiatives supporting third-level Access and Engagement.
The Star Awards recognise the very best in adult learning in Ireland.
The SETU Certificate in Community Studies is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of community volunteers, helping them to effectively support and develop their communities.
Community volunteers and activists had the opportunity to study a third level programme in Tramore FET Centre.
The programme covers areas such as Groupwork, Facilitation, Community Development, Personal Development and offers progression routes to the Higher Certificate, Ordinary Degree and Honours Degree in Community Education and Development. The programme was funded by WWETB’s Innovation Fund.
The awards ceremony takes place on March 7th at Croke Park.
