The rising number of cases of Covid-19 in Waterford is being directly linked to a single outbreak in a workplace in the county.

An additional 9 cases were confirmed here yesterday, and Waterford now has the fourth highest incidence rate in the country.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that Waterford has one large workplace outbreak, with 28 cases currently linked to it, 7 of them added in the past 24 hours.

Sinn Fein Health spokesperson David Cullinane said the situation was very worrying and questions need to be asked of the company, which has so far not responded to media requests for comment.
