A Waterford man said he wasn't expecting his footage of Bonmahon to get worldwide attention.
Jody Sutton's video of the village covered in white sea foam has been broadcast on CNN in Brazil, ABC in the United States and has appeared on media organisations in Russia, Turkey and Portugal to name just a few.
He said the amount of foam last weekend was exceptional.
"You would often see it when the sea is rough but in this case, we had a consistent on-shore wind for about three days and that's what caused all the foam to come in so much and cover the village.
"I've never seen it like that before."
Jody Sutton said what doesn't come across on the video is what he had to do to get those shots.
"I was covered really, I was drowned wet, the foam was up to my chest, I was down low [to get the shots] I got pretty deep in it alright."
Jody published the video on Sunday afternoon and it quickly attracted attention.
"It was actually WLR, that was the first to get in touch and to share it so you started the ball rolling."
He said it went everywhere.
"From Russia to the United States so I've no idea how it happened but, that's the nature of the internet."
Jody says there is a great reaction in Bonmahon too.
"I heard some funny pronunciations of the village but it's great to see it.
"Everybody is delighted, they're saying that I've put Bonmahon back on the map."
