Friends and relatives of patients at University Hospital Waterford are being encouraged to send letters or pictures to their loved ones.
A strict ban on visitors remains in place at UHW due to the Coronavirus outbreak. It means that a stay in hospital can be lonely for patients.
The hospital have set up an email address and will print out letters, sealing them in an envelope and will deliver them to patients within 24 hours.
People are asked to email [email protected] and to put the patients name and ward in the subject bar.
We are aware that the visiting restriction means that our patients can feel lonely, a note can make a difference to their day, here in UHW we have set up an email address where you can send a letter/a picture to your friend or relative. [email protected]@HrSswhg @HSELive pic.twitter.com/LT1iHuEGgr
