The outpatient waiting list in Waterford has increased by 13% since the start of the year.
University Hospital Waterford has the second-longest list in the country.
Figures released by the National Treatment Purchase Fund show 46,305 people were waiting to see a consultant in Waterford on the 26th of November.
That's up from 40,951 at the end of December last year.
It's second to Galway University Hospital where more than 48,000 people were waiting for an appointment.
However, people in Waterford are waiting longer than any other hospital.
17,128 people are on the outpatient list at UHW for at least a year and a half.
More than a third (6,577) are waiting that long for an Ear Nose and Throat appointment.
