20 countries now feature on the Government's mandatory hotel quarantine list.
They include Brazil, Austria, the UAE, South Africa and 16 countries within sub-Saharan Africa.
Travellers arriving in Ireland from these regions will have to quarantine in a hotel for two weeks.
However, Eoghan O'Mara Walsh from the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation says the industry will struggle to survive on domestic tourism alone for a second year running.
"What we need to see in the latter half of the year subject to public health is international tourism recommence.
"Whether it's mid-summer onwards and using a combination of the vaccine rollout and a proper regime at airports - we need to welcome the international visitor back to our shores."
