Two separate weather warnings for snow and low temperatures have been issued for the entire country.
The first status yellow warning for all counties in the Republic will begin at 8pm this evening, warning of low temperatures and ice across the county.
Temperatures of -3 and -4 degrees are expected in some parts overnight, with the warning remaining in place until 10am on Thursday.
A second yellow warning has also been issued by Met Éireann, covering the 26 counties as snow and ice is expected in the coming hours.

The forecaster expects 'treacherous conditions' in some areas, with snow accumulations possible.
The second warning will kick in at 11pm tonight and will last until 11am on Thursday.
In the North, a status yellow warning has also been issued by the UK Met office for the six counties, with snow and ice potentially leading to difficult travel conditions.
The warning takes effect at midnight tonight and will last until 9am tomorrow.
