Two houses catch fire in Dunmore East in the early hours of this morning

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fire at two adjoined houses in Dunmore East in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at 4:43am this morning and members of the fire service arrived at the scene at approximately 4:56am.

The houses were located at an address of Bayview, Killea, Dunmore East and are understood to have been thatched.

The fire was contained by one unit from Dunmore and one from Tramore and continued until 12pm this afternoon.

A watercarrier from Dunmore East was also used to contain the blaze.

Gardaí say paramedics treated those at the scene but no injuries have been reported as of yet.

Enquiries are ongoing.
