A High Court hearing is continuing into the sale of the former Ard Ri hotel in Waterford.
Treacy Hotels Group is challenging the decision of the vendor to sell to local businessman Seamus Walsh.
The hotels group had paid a deposit through Bank Draft for 160 thousand euro on November 21st 2016 to secure the purchase.
Two weeks later, a deposit was also paid by businessman Seamus Walsh on December 5th.
Proof of funds was needed from both parties before the following January, something which Mr Walsh did not do.
However, it was heard by the High Court on Tuesday that the Treacy Hotels Group did provide proof of adequate funds to refurbish the property.
Phone records were produced in court, with defence lawyers challenging the timing of calls from the Treacy Group to the vendor, US firm Cerberus.
A decision was made by the firm to sell to Seamus Walsh, a man they referred to as 'tried as tested.'
The Treacy family are asking the High Court to order the vendor and receiver to complete the sale of the Ard Ri hotel to them, as per their agreement.
