The brother of a well-known Waterford politician has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

The damage was alleged to have occurred at Tramore Pier on a date between March 24th and March 26th of this year.

A group of fishermen called The Tramore Pier Association, say their property has been targeted by a person or persons for some time.

The Irish Examiner reports that camera surveillance was set up by the group in the vicinity of their property.

Footage captured two men, one of whom blocked an outfall water pipe with dog excrement and rags, causing flooding to a converted storage shed used by the group.

The man has since been released without charge and a file will be now prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
