Planning permission granted to increase capacity of The Sands Hotel

Planning permission has been approved to increase the capacity of The Sands Hotel in Tramore.

Permission has been granted for a further 10 bedrooms in the 42-bedroom hotel located at the junction of Strand Road and Turkey Road in Tramore.

The Causeway Group intends to construct 5 bedrooms on the ground floor, in a space currently used as The Baldy Man nightclub.

A further 5 bedrooms are proposed for the high ceiling space above the nightclub where there is currently empty elevated ceiling space.

No objections or submissions were received in respect of the planning application, and in making their decision, the planning department set out 8 conditions.

These include consulting with Uisce Eireann on water drainage, preparing a Waste Management Plan, and correctly removing surplus demolished or excavated material from the site.

Planning permission will remain active for a period of 5 years.
