The light show will be open from Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm to 8pm until the 5th of January.
The Lafcadio Hearn Gardens recently added to their offering with a new audio guide and authentic tearoom.
Agnes Alyward, from the Tramore Development Trust says the Winter Light Festival is one of their busiest times.
The Tramore Christmas Festival got underway yesterday when Santa and the Fairy Snow Queen turned on the Christmas lights in the town centre.
On Friday the 13th and 20th of December there will be a Fairy Snow Queen Fancy dress parade on the Main Street in Tramore at 5pm
with musical performances and a Christmas Market.
DETAILS OF WINTER LIGHT FESTIVAL
The 'Enchanted Garden-Winter Light Festival', Tramore now in it's fourth year is quickly becoming one of the most stunning Winter Light Displays in the Country.
This winter light festival is a community project and funding raised goes towards the maintenance of the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens during the off-season.
The Enchanted Garden will light up by night from today the 6th December 2019 to the 5th January 2020. Gates open from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the Festival. Adults and children will be mesmerized by the fantastic light displays which culminate in a visit to the 'Winter Fairy' who resides in a glowing dome on the pond. The Trees, structures and landscape are tastefully lit with background music taking you on a journey through this magical winter wonderland. Visitors can enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and Gluhwein by the fire.
This year's opening ceremony will take place on Friday, 6th December at 5pm and will welcome members of 'The Island of Ireland Peace Choir' to begin the celebrations. Due to demand the event which now stays open beyond Christmas hosts a special New Year's Eve celebration on the 31st December in early evening to coincide with Japanese New Year and to allow children to enjoy the event. Music will also be to the forefront of the New Year's Eve Celebrations. Visitors are expected to travel from around the country to visit the 'Enchanted Garden' during the weeks leading up to Christmas and the first week in January.
The event caters for people of all ages from small toddlers to grandparents and is an enchanting experience for families and individuals, inspiring the imagination and well being, taking all who visit on a magical journey whatever your age. As the festival is weather dependent, opening nights may vary and will be closed on nights of extreme weather, however details of additional nights and any changes will all be posted on the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese GardensWebsite and Facebook Page.
Entry costs just €5 per adult and €3 for Children under 12 (children under 2 are Free).
