1. Man arrested following fatal stabbing in Dublin last night
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 25 year old man in Tallaght, Dublin last night. Ademola Giwa died in hospital after being stabbed multiple times during a row at Mac Uilliam Road. This afternoon Gardai arrested a man in his 20s in Dundalk, Co. Louth in connection with the incident. A second man, who gardai say is in his 50s, received non life-threatening injuries and is continuing to receive medical attention.
2. Access for partners to maternity services is a post code lottery
The Rotunda Hospital in Dublin says fully-vaccinated people won't have greater access to the hospital than people who haven't been vaccinated. Restrictions for partners remain in place at the hospital, which it says is partly due to the low level of vaccination among its inpatients. 60 per cent of inpatients and their partners are not fully vaccinated. The hospital says it's willing to ease restrictions when the level of vaccination improves.
3. Pharmacist hopes to be vaccinating children from mid next week
A Dungarvan pharmacist says he hopes to have vaccine stocks in place and ready for roll-out for 12-15 year olds by mid next week. Darragh Connolly, who is also Ex-Officio President of the Irish Pharmacy Union, says there are a few 'i's to dot, and t's to cross' on the scheme - including on consent - for young teens but he expects further clarity in the coming days.
