Update at 2:20pm: Cork Road expected to re-open in the next 10-15 minutes according to Emergency Services
A teenager has been killed in this morning's crash between a bus and an e-scooter on the Cork Road in Waterford.
In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 1.15am, an e-scooter driven by a teenager collided with a bus.
There was a second teenager on the scooter at the time of the crash, he was transferred to the Emergency Department of University Hospital Waterford by the National Ambulance Service for treatment of serious injuries sustained.
There were no passengers on the bus at the time and the driver of the bus is understood to be uninjured.
The teenage boy was pronounced dead at the scene having suffered severe head injuries.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for any dash-cam footage or camera footage from road-users who may have been in the area at the time between 12.45am and 1.15am.
