Waterford Council is asking people not to swim at Stradbally Cove.
They've issued a bathing prohibition notice due to poor water quality.
It's following consultation with the HSE.
It comes as thousands of people flock to the beaches across Waterford. Temperatures reached the high 20's this afternoon.
Tramore Beach, Woodstown, Guillamine, Newtown Cove, both strands in Dunmore East, Kilfarrassey, Annestown, Boatstrand, Bunmahon, Ballyvooney, Clonea, Ardmore are all said to have excellent water quality.
During the summer the quality of each individual water sample tested at our beaches is assessed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) using the standards set in the Bathing Water Quality Regulations. Individual beach water samples are assessed as meeting the quality standards of ‘Excellent’, ‘Good’ or ‘Sufficient’ or if they don’t meet the minimum standard as ‘Poor’.
