Waterford City and County Council has advised that swimmers should avoid Tramore and Bunmahon beaches as a precaution.
The local authority issued the notice Tuesday afternoon, citing the effects of the recent heavy rain.
It says tests are being carried out on the water and an update will be given tomorrow.

As a precaution, due to the effects of the recent very heavy rain, swimming is currently not advised at Tramore or Bunmahon beaches. Tests are being carried out and an update will be given tomorrow, 19th August. #Waterford
