A Status Orange wind warning has been issued for Waterford.

Met Éireann says Storm Isha will bring very strong southwest winds with severe and damaging gusts.

This is likely to cause large coastal waves with wave overtopping, very difficult travelling conditions, fallen trees, and damage to power lines.

The warning is valid from 5pm today (Sunday) to 2am Monday.

In addition to Waterford, the Status Orange wind warning includes the rest of Munster, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster, Leitrim, Roscommon, and Sligo.

A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for all of Ireland from 11am today until 4am Monday.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Red wind warning for counties Galway, Mayo and Donegal.

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is asking road users to exercise caution while using the roads.
