Plans submitted to convert former Starbucks site into medical facility

A planning application has been submitted to Waterford Council for the change of use of a building in John Roberts Square from a café to a medical treatment facility.

Starbucks Coffee, opened in John Roberts Square in 2016, despite having not yet acquired planning permission.

They were served with a temporary closure order by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland within weeks, and the site has lain vacant since.

Plans were submitted by DSE Clearwhite Limited to the local authority this week.

Works will include the modification of the internal layout to create treatment rooms among other alterations.

A decision is expected by November 20th.
