Over €500,000 is being made available to community-based projects nationwide to support the integration of migrants.
Six Waterford projects are to receive funding under the Communities Integration Fund 2024.
Integration Minister Roderic O'Gorman has announced the funding which is aimed at helping communities welcome and integrate migrants and refugees.
In Waterford, Creative Ukrainian Emeralds is receiving €5,000.
Waterford Boat Club has been granted over €3,000 for a cultural integration event.
Funding of approximately €4,000 has been awarded to Enhance - a Waterford City Digital Literacy charity; to the Carbally Community Development Project; and to the Waterford Walls project.
Meanwhile, Access IT receives more than €2,000 for Creative Computers Health and Wellbeing for Migrant Women.
Minister O’Gorman said: “I am delighted to announce today that 113 local migrant integration projects will be funded under the Communities Integration Fund. Over the last few years, communities across Ireland have played a vital role in supporting those who have come and made their lives here. I’m confident that this fund will help support those efforts”.
