Students at SETU in Waterford will have Monday off following a cyberattack on the campus.

An investigation has been launched after the incident was identified.

The university says it has no evidence to suggest any data or information has been compromised.

Higher Education Minister Patrick O'Donovan says his department is liaising with SETU on the issue.

"The most important thing is that the university can function," he said.

"As a precautionary step, the decision has been taken not to open on Monday."
