Communions and confirmations won't go ahead in Waterford until September at the earliest.
Hundreds of children in Waterford had their big day postponed as the country went into lockdown because of COVID-19 restrictions
The Bishop of Waterford and Lismore Alphonsus Cullinan says that parents will have to register on the diocesan website their intention for their child to make their first holy communion and confirmation, if they didn't get to make it this year.
He says that due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the church will be able to accommodate small weddings from June 29th however the sacraments for school children will be later
He says children in Waterford who were due to make their communion and confirmation will have to wait until at least September to do so as the church will still won't be able to accommodate large numbers.
