The N24 is closed following a road traffic accident on the Waterford to Mooncoin road.
Gardaí say the road is closed at both sides and the incident is understood to have taken place near Carrigeen hurling pitch, on the N24.
Emergency services are attending the scene and Gardaí are advising motorists to completely avoid the N24.
Traffic is heavy on approach from both directions and motorists are being advised to use alternative routes.
