The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Cappoquin in County Waterford has been cancelled.
In a statement the organising committee said that after careful consideration, they have regretfully decided to cancel
their 12th annual parade.
They said they really appreciate all the volunteer help and support they get every year, but at this stage the main priority is to safeguard public health.
They apologised to participants who put so much into the parade every year, but say they will be back next year with a bigger and better event.

Last Friday the Dungarvan St Patrick's Day Parade was cancelled due to fears over coronavirus.
Organisers made the decision after the first case of community transmission was confirmed.
