Residents of Passage East held a second public meeting in relation to the construction of a mast in the village.
The first meeting was held last month at the Passage East Community Centre.
On Tower Ireland Limited is seeking to construct an 18-meter multi-user lattice-type telecommunications support structure.
Locals say they are concerned, particularly when it comes to health.
Local councillor Declan Barry chaired the two meetings attended by hundreds and spoke to WLR News.
"People have health concerns, however, nothing has ever been proven regarding that, but people are worried about living so close in a built-up area with their school, creche, and local GAA club, all in close proximity.
"The application was submitted four weeks ago. The planning office will have to take into the concerns of the people living in the area.
"There was anywhere upwards of a hundred people in the community who turned up to the second public meeting. We're living in a coastal sensitive area with lovely picturesque views of the estuary and the harbour and now we're going to be having an 18-metre mast imposed on us. and taking away from where it's going to be a visual impact.
"With two public meetings and after over 200 people showing up at this stage, that shows there's a big, big move not to allow this to be put in our area."
