A yacht, which got into difficulty off the coast of Waterford, has been escorted back to shore by the RNLI.
The Dun Laoghaire based yacht was taking part in a race from Dublin around the Fastnet Rock when it was dismasted.
It was almost 36 miles south of Waterford at the time and had six crew members on board.
The Dunmore East RNLI Lifeboat was launched shortly before 7:30 am, they arrived on scene, carried out a quick assessment and found the crew in good spirits.
The yacht was able to make their way back slowly to Dunmore East under power and were escorted by the lifeboat.
They arrived back in the harbour at around 2:15 pm.
Tony Kelly, Dunmore East RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager said:
"A shout like this really highlights how dedicated our volunteers are.
"They gave up their Sunday morning without hesitation to spend nearly 7 hours at sea, away from their families to selflessly help others.
Thankfully, sea conditions were good at the time and all are now safely back onshore."
