Dunmore East RNLI is appealing to people walking on cliff paths and beaches to avoid taking unnecessary risks.

With schools and colleges closed, more people are outdoors.

The RNLI is urging the public to be extra responsible so not to put unnecessary pressure on front line services.

It's asking people to know your route, check tide times daily, only enter the water if it is safe to do so and wear a lifejacket if sailing or taking part in watersports.

If you see someone in difficulty, or you get into difficulty yourself, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
