The residents of a men's hostel in Waterford city are left reeling after two men were found dead there yesterday.
Gardai made the grim discovery when called to an incident at McGwire's hostel on Bath street around 4.45pm on Thursday.
One man was found unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.
While dealing with the first incident, gardaí then found the second man deceased in his bed.
WLR news understands the men are in their 40s and from County Waterford.
Post mortem examinations will be carried out and gardaí say the results will determine the course of their investigation.
However, there is nothing to indicate at this stage that the deaths are suspicious.
McGwire's hostel is home to 25-30 male residents.
