Rescue services were launched in Tramore this evening after reports of a paddleboarder in difficulty near the Guillamene.
A member of the public contacted emergency services and Tramore RNLI were launched at around 6.50pm.
However, it's understood the experienced paddleboarder, who was training in the area, made their way ashore safely.
Lifeboat crews did a quick search of the area and were stood down again at 7.15pm.
A spokesperson for Tramore RNLI said the member of the public did the right thing in dialing 999. They told WLR News that they always prefer getting a call early adding that they never mind getting called out for a false alarm with good intent.
