Public meeting on Tramore Safe to Schools road changes following trial period

Two public meetings will be held by Waterford City & County Council for residents of Sweetbriar and St. Otterans Terrace in Tramore.

The meetings are being held to give the public the chance to view the changes which have been trialled in the area as part of the Safe Schools initiative ‘Routes to School.’

They will take place in Tramore Library at 1pm on Thursday, March 16 and again at 6pm.

Meetings will be attended by engineers from Waterford Council who will engage with residents on the active travel projects which were implemented on a trial basis in the region of Glor na Mara school.

A decision is now to be made on the proposed Part 38 changes which will be made in the area.

Included in the proposed changes are: Pencil Bollards outside the school, widening of the existing footpaths on both sides of Convent Hill, junction tightening at the base of Convent Hill/top of Pond Road, driving lines to be reduced to 3m wide on Convent Hill, juncti0n tightening at the intersection of Sweetbriar Close, junction tightening and footpath widening at the top of St. Otterans Terrace.
