The owners of Waterford arts venue Central Hall have announced their decision to close.
The space on Parade Quay was the home of Central Arts for the last six years run by John and Ciara O'Connell.
Ciara told WLR it was a tough decision but an obvious decision "we couldn't continue to fly blind which is happening with a lot of organisations in the arts at the moment - that we're just expected to shut our doors at a moment's notice".
Ciara added that "no amount of money or no amount of input was going to change the fact that we have no programming in our venue, like some other venues as well, until next Summer."
However, the company will continue to run festivals and events in a different way.
Ciara thanked all of those who supported the independent company over the years.
The remaining three events: Fred Cooke this Friday and two nights with Joanne McNally next week will take place before the doors close for good.
