A plaque was unveiled today in Kilmacthomas in memory of Larry Griffin, The Missing Postman.
An Post arranged the ceremony at the old Post Office this morning following Larry's anniversary Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Kilmacthomas.
He disappeared 90 years ago on Christmas Day 1929 in what remains one of Ireland's most notorious unsolved murder cases.
Fachtna Ó Drisceoil, author of The Missing Postman, was at the plaque unveiling:
"People don't want to have these scandals and these injustices that happened in our past, so many different ones to do with Church and State, they don't want them hidden anymore. They want them out in the open, they want them to see the light of day. The victims of these kind of injustices, like the Griffin family, now want to have their stories heard and to have their stories acknowledged. Particulary since there's a huge injustice of the body never being returned to the family."
