Waterford City and County Council has refused planning for a telecommunications antennae in Tramore. Shared Access Ltd. had sought to construct a 24 meter monopole structure on the grounds of Tramore AFC.
The application was subsequently refused by the council, citing concerns for a neighboring residential estate.
It was noted that the location, scale and height of the structure would represent a visually discordant feature on the main approach to Tramore. It was also noted that the structure would seriously "injure" the visual amenities of the area.
An appeal may be lodged by the applicant against the decision.
