Planning permission has been refused for a housing development in Tramore by Waterford City and County Council.
The application from Cosmo Developments Newtown Limited included the construction of 35 dwelling units, along with upgrades to an existing pumping station, local roads and footpaths, site landscaping and amenity areas, boundary treatments, lighting, drainage, new road connection to Newtown Park and all associated infrastructure.
The application was submitted to Waterford City and County Council in June 2024. Further information had been requested by the local authority in August.
The 35 housing units included 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, of both semi-detached and terraced design.
Among the reasons cited by the Planning Authority for the refusal include water connection supply issues and the location and nature of the substantive area of public open space to serve the proposed development.
