Update: A small protest is continuing outside a meat factory in Waterford despite farmers agreeing to stand down their picket.
A meeting was held at ABP in Ferrybank where almost two-thirds of protesters voted in favour of ending the blockade and accepting the agreement brokered last weekend in Dublin.
A similar meeting is due to take place at Dawn Meats in Grannagh this evening.
Farmers picketing in Ferrybank say the vote is void as they weren't told there was going to be a vote and many protestors were missing when it was held.
They're calling for a second vote to be held.
Earlier: Farmers protesting in Ferrybank outside Waterford city have agreed to stand down their picket.
A meeting was held last night where almost two-thirds of protesters voted in favour of ending the blockade and accepting the agreement brokered last weekend in Dublin.
The final tally was 47 in favour of ending the picket against 31 farmers who voted to stay on.
Protesters at a Dawn Meats plant in Slane became the first to end their picket yesterday.
This farmer spoke after the result:
"If they go off now, they go off with a victory.
"If they wait to be pushed off the gates, it will look like they lost.
"That's why most of the people here voted to go now, they will go with a victory rather than be pushed off as numbers dwindle.
"As the guy said tonight, farmers are going to start going against farmers when the pressure comes on people to get rid of cattle and the weather breaks.
"Time is not on our side here but, we fought a good fight and we've come away with something."
