People across Waterford are being urged to be extra vigilant of jellyfish in the water while sea-swimming.

The warning comes as sightings of jellyfish in South East coastal areas have increased significantly due to higher water temperatures.

If people experience a jellyfish sting, they are being advised to go to the on-duty lifeguard if and, if symptoms continue, a doctor.
