21 people were arrested in Waterford for drink and drug driving over Christmas.
That's according to the final figures released by An Garda Síochána as part of their Christmas and New Year Road Safety Campaign.
It began on the 1st of December and ended on the 3rd of January and consisted of increased checkpoints around the country, as well as an information campaign.
In total, 745 people were arrested for driving under the influence, while 14,700 speeding offences were detected.
In Waterford, 18 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and three were detained for drug driving offences.
