Met Eireann has upgraded it's warning for heavy rain for Waterford to status orange level.
The alert for intense rainfall is associated with Storm Francis. It comes into force from 9 pm tonight and will last until 5 pm tomorrow.
It applies to Waterford, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.
The forecaster is predicting accumulations of 40 to 60mm of rain with higher amounts in mountainous areas. They say that some flash flooding is likely.
The rain is expected to ease off in southern counties tomorrow morning.
Very windy or stormy conditions are also expected in Waterford tomorrow morning. A yellow alert remains in place for widespread and severe gusts of 90 to 110km/h.
The wind warning for Munster, Dublin, Wexford and Wicklow begins at 6 am tomorrow morning and will remain in place until 7 pm.
The forecaster says some disruption is likely and that there is the possibly structural damage.
