A popular Dungarvan coffee shop has extended its offering to Bonmahon.

The premises formerly known as Kennedy's grocery and drapery in the Copper Coast village has been transformed into a new cafe by Orlaith Brady of Gourmet House.

Speaking to WLR News in Bonmahon, Orlaith explained why she has embarked on the new venture.

"I'm living in the area 20 years and really wanted to do this," she says.

"The opportunity arose and I grabbed it with both hands."

Orlaith says she hopes to create a focal point within the community and she believes the future for Bonmahon is very bright.

"Bonmahon has huge passing trade. The boardwalk, playground, and parking facilities have all been developed here recently and there is also a walkway to Trá na mBó. We have all these gems in the area."
