Gardaí in Dungarvan are asking motorists to obey parking regulations when visiting beaches this weekend.
There have been some issues in Clonea and Ardmore beaches in recent weeks, with multiple complaints received by Gardaí in relation to Ardmore.
Brian O'Callaghan the Sgt in charge at Dungarvan Garda Station says people aren't adhering to the markings in place.
"In particular we've had problems with people parking in areas where they shouldn't be. We've had multiple complaints from residents of Ardmore and I'm sure the council have as well which is why they've put down the new markings.
"There are only two routes into Ardmore which causes congestion very quickly so when there is a large influx of people - especially on Bank Holiday weekends and when the weather is nice, it does cause problems for locals who need to gain access to the area, " Sgt O'Callaghan said.
Dungarvan Gardaí are calling on the public to obey markings on the roads and to obey parking regulations if visiting the beach this bank holiday weekend.
"The law will be enforced in these areas, the council have put down new markings, and if people could just obey the regulations it would be very much appreciated," Sgt O'Callaghan said.
