The Minister for Education Norma Foley will address the Dail this afternoon after mistakes were discovered in the Leaving Cert's calculated grades.
It emerged yesterday that 6,500 students were marked down over errors in the algorithm.
The Department of Education has said students who get better course offers as a result of the new results will be accommodated.
Katie Halpin Hill from An Rinn is a member of the Irish Secondary School Students' Union,
The former Mean Scoil San Nioclás student says the news is disappointing.
"It puts a lot of pressure on students again.
"The Minister promised that this process would be fair and equitable and now it's becoming clear that is wasn't. The union is quite disappointed about that.
"We're also quite disappointed that the ISSU wasn't informed and that other stakeholders weren't informed about these mistakes.
"The Department has known since Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday afternoon and the fact that it's only coming to light now especially after the second round of CAO offers were already given out, the fact that it's coming to light now is unacceptable."
CAO
The CAO says it will do it's best to accommodate students impacted by the errors in the calculated grades system, but many courses are already at a squeeze point.
The Irish Universities Association Director General Jim Miley said many courses are already maxed out.
“Because of those extra places that are already in the system, there simply are not places left in some courses,” he said.
“We hope that students can be accommodated but it may well be a situation where there simply is not a place for a student on certain courses.
“In that scenario, the only option is to offer them a place but it would have to be deferred until next year.”
