Four new enterprise hubs in West Waterford will be officially opened this morning.

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys will be attending that and a number of other markings locally.

In November 2020, it was announced that construction was due to start on four new 'Smart Work' or enterprise hubs in the west of the county.

The aim was for these spaces to encourage people to live and work in the Blackwater Valley Economic Development Zone.

Now, two years on, the ribbons will finally be cut on the hubs in Tallow, Lismore, Cappoquin and Villierstown by Minister Humphreys.

You can listen back to a report about these hubs on WLR's Hot Desk here.

While the Minister is in Cappoquin, an announcement is also expected on allocations under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.

Following that, the plan for Dungarvan's economic future - Dungarvan 2040 - will be launched at the Enterprise Centre there.

The final markings of the Minister's visit to Waterford will see a new Greenway Playground officially opened, and a plaque unveiled in Clonea Power.
