Taoiseach Micheál Martin is among those paying tribute to the late Fr Pat Cogan.
Fr Cogan died peacefully yesterday in University Hospital Waterford.
He was surrounded by his close friends when he passed.

Fr Cogan played a huge role in the development of social housing in Ireland.
He is the founder of the Respond Housing Association in Waterford.

He worked tirelessly in the housing sector for many years, working to build an Ireland where everyone can have a home to call their own and where individuals, families and communities are empowered to reach their full potential," Declan Dunne, CEO of Respond, said.
Fr Cogan will be reposing at Thompsons Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford on Friday 14th October from 7pm with removal at 8.30 pm to the Franciscan Friary, Lady Lane, Waterford.
Funeral Mass is on Saturday 15th October at 12 noon, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner.
