The former Maryland Hotel site in Waterford City is set to go on the market.
The property is being listed for sale in the coming days by GMC Auctioneers - boasting 19 en-suite bedrooms, a bar and restaurant and two adjoining apartments.
The property is situated on the junction of the Mall and Catherine Street, and is known as the birthplace of William Vincent Wallace.
It has been outlined by the auctioneers that the property is "suitable for a variety of potential uses or redevelopment."
The hotel had been named Maryland in 1959 and operated initially as a bed and breakfast before becoming a hotel in the 1960s - and was run by the late Vincent O'Toole.
"We are delighted to have been trusted to handle this sale, The Maryland is an iconic landmark site in Waterford and is steeped in history", said Garreth McCarthy.
"We already have significant interest both locally and nationally and we haven’t actually listed the property as yet!".
