Sale agreed for Waterford's Maryland Hotel

A sale has been agreed for Waterford's Maryland Hotel.

The property was listed for sale in mid-October by GMC Auctioneers - boasting 19 en-suite bedrooms, a bar and restaurant, and two adjoining apartments.

The property is situated on the junction of the Mall and Catherine Street and is known as the birthplace of William Vincent Wallace.

Upon entering the market, it was outlined that the property is "suitable for a variety of potential uses or redevelopment."

A sale has now been confirmed, with auctioneer Garreth McCarthy telling WLR News that the sale was agreed "well in excess of the asking price."

"Whilst the identity of the buyer can not be disclosed at this time, the buyers have ambitious plans which will be fantastic for Waterford's hospitality offering in the near future. The Maryland is an iconic landmark site in Waterford and is steeped in history. We are delighted to have been trusted to handle this sale and wish both vendors and purchasers the very best."
