A multi agency operation took place in Waterford City this afternoon in response to reports of a man entering the water at Rice Bridge.
The operation was completed with a successful outcome.
Billy Gallagher from Waterford City River Rescue outlined more to WLR.
"Our pagers went off at 12.45pm. We responded and got the man out five minutes later," he explained.

"We had a great response from the Fire Service, Ambulance Service, Gardaí and the guys working with BAM."
The man, aged in his thirties, had been transferred to UHW for treament.
Mr Gallagher has reminded people to contact 112 or 999 in cases of emergencies.
