A man remains in custody in Tramore following a serious assault yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the Clarinwood Roundabout shortly after 11 o'clock.
A man in his 20s was taken to University Hospital Waterford with serious injuries but his condition is understood to be stable.
A man in his 50s was arrested in connection with the incident and was brought to Tramore Garda Station.
He is still being detained for questioning at this morning.
A forensic examination of the scene was carried out yesterday.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly appealing to those with video footage (including dash-cam) to make it available to them.
