Gardai are holding a man on suspicion of murdering a pensioner in Co. Mayo.
The man's body was found inside a house after emergency services were called to deal with a fire at the property at Pheasanthill near Castlebar shortly after 6.30 yesterday evening.
There are unconfirmed reports the man had suffered a number of gunshot wounds.
A technical examination of the scene is underway today and a post-mortem will be carried out on the man's body later.

A suspect who is aged in his 60s was arrested last night and is being questioned at Castlebar garda station.
