A man has appeared in court in relation to a high speed chase in Waterford on Sunday.
At approximately 6.35pm, a vehicle failed to stop for Gardaí at The Folly in Waterford City and drove off at speed towards Waterford Airport
and along a number of back roads towards Tramore.
Gardaí attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver rammed into the side of a patrol car.
He drove up the wrong side of dual carriageway towards the Couse Roundabout from Ballindud and eventually came to a stop as the vehicle
was mechanically unfit to go any further.
The 22 year old male driver was arrested and taken to Waterford Garda Station.
He was charged in relation to this incident and appeared before a special sitting of Waterford District Court yesterday.
The man was released on bail and is due before Waterford District Court again on Tuesday 9th June, 2020.
